Right, so today is the day that every Starbucks location in the country transitions to the holiday set.
I worked this transition the other day, and I gotta tell ya, it was really great. Except for the fact that I had to sit behind two large Albanian women with excruciatingly severe body odor. Oh, wait, that’s a song. Never mind.
The point is that I didn’t go in to work until 9:00 last night. I thought I’d only be there an hour at most, but we (my boss Brandy and I) didn’t get even CLOSE to being finished until 10:45, at which time everyone was threatening to kill us if we didn’t stop, clock out, and leave. After all, the LODs refused to open the doors until we were done. So we left Brandy a huge mess to clean up this morning. It’s all good, though. We got the major aspects of the transition done, except for the holiday trim on our floor baskets, since the Kent Distribution Center (in Seattle) failed to send us that box.
I get to go in tomorrow. I don’t know what time right now, but sometime.
