Gah, my computer hates me… with a vengence.

Yesterday, I had to reinstall Windows. That’s how bad it had gotten.

Then, of course, nothing worked. Even stuff I used exceedingly frequently. Such as Firefox. Then, a BRAND NEW COPY of the install program refused to execute. Then I tried to execute an older version’s installer, and it still failed miserably.

<geekiness>Now that I’ve downloaded the latest version of the OLEAUT32.DLL file (from 09/12/01), Firefix suddenly decided it was gonna be a good little browser and play nice with the children (me).</geekiness>

I’m still working on some stuff, like making Trillian NOT crash. That was a problem anyway, though.

That’s about all I’ve got for this post. *runs away*

I’m updating my journal while I’m on the phone.

Granted, most of this is based on old data, seeing as I don’t write in my livejournal any more.

Much to the dismay of many (OK, so only one person will really care), I will not be online again tonight. The reason? Well, I really didn’t think it was a good idea to stay up half the night and then go to work at 8:15 tomorrow morning, because that would mean being crabby with guests, which isn’t really looked upon very favorably when your job is guest service and nothing else. However, hopefully I will be able to make up for it after I get off work, at which time I will be able to speak with the one I was so rudely cut off from on Sunday night when Qwest Communications Inc. had a failure of some sort, possibly equipment, that crashed my computer and killed both of the phone lines into my place of residence.

In other news, I shall be moving away from this ‘blue’ theme I’ve been using on my blog, because it has come to my attention that the theme is very slow to load (even over broadband connections), leading to a loss of readers and thus, popularity. When I find a suitable replacement, I shall customize and update the template, with little or no notification. Consider this your warning that the site’s appearence will change dramatically over the course of the coming days and weeks.

Wow, that’s a TINY box for writing. I’m in the open computer lab at ACC right now, just hanging out until the bus comes back to take me home. I just got my student ID printed out by the Campus Police department, and got my parking sticker and a bunch of other cool stuff. Now, I just need to find an on-campus job, and I’ll be set. Although, I really should take a new student orientation.

So last night, I trained for Guest Services. Not too big a deal, just do what the computer tells me to. So my TMID# was updated to say that I’m GS-trained (ooooooohhhh, tasty).

Then, today at 2:30, when I’m going on my lunch, my boss comes up to me and is like, “do you think you could cover guest service from 3 to 6?”, and I’m all going, “sure, no problem”.

Well, at least the day went quickly.

And away I go! Trah laa laa *muffled abduction sounds are heard, a car speeds away, and everyone wonders what the hell this post is about*

…now, on to business:

We don’t really have sponsors. That was just a ploy to annoy web censors in general. It even has something to do with my day.

So after working a 9:30 to 6 shift, I waited for the bus.

And waited.

And waited.

And waited.

After that, I waited.

I waied for that bus to come for somewhere around an hour before the lazy bum Sho decided to show up, and gave me a ride.

First we drove around for a while, then we got the idea of going to Christals, because we’ve both been 18 year old guys too long without being in a porn shop. So after looking around for a bit without buying anything, we went to Southglenn Mall with no purpose, but generally to annoy people. So we annoyed one Samuel, and then we went to the other end of the mall to see if the Radio Shack had a 10/100 hub for Sho (they didn’t…), and then back to find Liz and annoy her. If I hadn’t have dragged Sho into there to find her, he would’ve just headed home and done nothing. But instead, we ran into Liz exceedingly quickly, only looking for a couple minutes. So we hung out for a while, and then went home. She didn’t think she’d be online, but after I’d installed my new CD-RW drive in my compy, I got online, launched Trillian, and found her just sitting there, doing nothing. Then I added: “*in a stage whisper to an invisible Sho* See? I knew she’d be here”.

….It’s all because I’m awesome.
