Bah.
Remember Hurricane Emily? Caused a buncha trouble in Mexico last week?
Well, apparently she wasn’t done wrecking havoc across the central north-western hemisphere.
Beginning on Sunday, and bringing the tail in yesterday, Colorado got hit with the remnants of Emily. She was quite welcome, because she broke a streak of 100+ days here. After all, last Wednesday, we tied the record for the hottest day (ever!) in Denver at a blistering 105 degrees, last reached in July 1874.
I left work just in time on Sunday to prevent the rain from entering the interior of my mother’s automobile, and yesterday, it started raining just as I was getting on the bus home, and I was able to arrange for transport home from the bus stop. It was great.
Well, here I go, off to work yet again. Soon.
First, I have to get some stuff done, such as eating. And showering. While I’m doing so, please enjoy the lawyer joke below. Users of my blog, simply hit the link below. LJ users, hopefully, it will be under the heading “Lawyer Joke”, just so you can’t possibly miss it.

Yeah so I was talking to Sadie this morning while I was going to work, and I can barely hear her anyway because of the stupid air conditioning in the bus, and suddenly, I get the call dropped. I was about to kill something.
It wasn’t good.
However, I did manage to blow most of the minutes I had left. Now I have to add more.
Well, I finished it Sunday.
Such sadness - that I can’t talk about here until others finish it.
Blarg.
Well, tonight on the way home from work, I got my first (of many speeding tickets.
The weird thing was, when Sho got his ticket, I was in the passenger seat. Now, when I get my ticket, he’s in the passenger seat.
Uhm… yeah… poorly photoshopped evidence follows, of course. Click the picture to see it better!
Well, I’ve gotten around to installing Moveable Type 3.17 on my server as a test/toy/other funny things.
A free commercial license was a great influence in this decision.
This main blog will still be run with WordPress… this is just so I can contribute some MT features toward WP *shiftyeyes*
I hate the smell of Chlorox… but now it’s embedded deep within the skin on my hands.
This comes from spending 4.75 hrs of my valuable (?) time cleaning the displays in Small Applicances, Lamps (I love lamp…), Furniture, and Infants.
Oh well. I made somewhere around 35 bucks today. That’ll pay for… something, I’m sure…
Hey! I get to work tomorrow!
They want me to… clean.
I feel so… needed…
*sigh* I wanna be trained at something more fun, like Electronics. Or Fitting Room/Operator. Or Guest Services. Yeah, any of those would be fine. But instead, I’m coming in to… clean.
Well, I still get paid several dollar-ehs for every hour I’m there. And Anne said I can basically work as long as I want. So it works.
Righty then… I left work, turned onto Clinton St. aimed squarely at Arapahoe Road. Well, the only way one could go on Arapahoe was to the SB I-25 ramp. So, I’m thinking, that’s cool, I’ll just get off at Dry Creek. Guess what? That exit is closed. So I figure I’ll go to County Line. Well, of course that ramp was closed. I finally managed to get off the interstate at C470… otherwise, I probably would have ended up in Castle Rock by the time I finally got off the highway.
It’s stunts like that which make me really want to go off and destory someone at the offices of CDOT. Just like I destoryed the English language just then.
Right, so while I was crawling my watched blogs, I came across this entry on the fat girl’s blog, talking about iTunes 4.9. I go to download the newest version of iTunes, only to find it will only work on Win2k and WinXP.
It seems more and more software manufacturers are making their software only for the NT-based Microsoft systems, but must they all ignore the fact that a lot of us have some old boxes hanging around, and we might like to have some software updates? I mean, MicroSith shut down the Windows Update site for 98 a few years ago… but that was alright with me, because I never bothered with the updates - they were slow to download, and they always screwed up my computer more than they “protected” it.
I know I’m *hopelessly* outdated - but this is a good compy. It almost never crashes - even when left running for days on end in 100 degree/+ temperatures in my room, and it generally responds to just about anything I do to it. I just want some freaking software!!!!!!!
Alright, so today while I’m driving home from the cabin, I’m at the top of Kenosha Pass and some idiot in a big-ass pickup pulls out of a parking lot across my lane of traffic, while I’m hurtling toward him at a good 65 MPH.
So I have to be the one to stop and bellow my horn at him. If you’ve ever heard the horn of a ‘98 Escort, you know that it’s a pretty substantial horn, not one of those little ‘meep meep’ horns. Anyway, there was traffic coming from the other way too, that of course had to come to a sudden screeching stop just so this one little @$$hole wouldn’t have to wait any more to get down the mountain.
Somehow, I think he would have learned his lesson better from being hit.
Good thing the person behind me was paying attention, or I may have been the one to get hit and had other bad things ensue because of it.
